SERVICE AREA

The service area for IVT includes routes in the Primary Corridor area between Brawley, Imperial, IVC, El Centro and Heber to Calexico. The Secondary Service areas include Holtville, Seeley, Niland, Calipatria and Westmorland. The Remote Zones (lifeline service) include Ocotillo, Winterhaven and the East side of the Salton Sea.


TYPES OF SERVICE: 

Regular:  regular bus service is provided throughout the cities and limited parts of the County Monday through Saturday, via a specific schedule

Express:  express service is provided to Imperial Valley College during the times the college is in session only, via specific schedules

Direct Service:  direct service is provided to connect Brawley and Calexico Monday through Friday, via a specific schedule at a slightly higher fare

Lifeline: lifeline service is provided to the remote areas of the County such as Winterhaven once a week, via a specific schedule

Route Deviation: route deviation is offered in certain areas and on all lifeline routes based upon a request for service the priority

Demand Response: demand response service is offered in certain areas. Routes that are designed as demand responsive only receive service if a request is made at least one day in advance


ROUTES

Routes are designed to provide connection between the cities in the primary corridor 80% of the population live, works or studies. The primary corridor is made up of Brawley, Imperial, IVC, El Centro, Heber & Calexico. There are approximately 28 routes with multiple trips daily Monday through Friday. Service is offered on a reduced schedule on Saturdays. Service is not offered on Sundays.

HOLIDAY SCHEDULE:

IVT does not operate on the following holidays:  Martin Luther King’s birthday, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day or New Years Day.


ADA ACCESSIBILITY

All buses are lift equipped and designed to be in compliance with the American’s With Disabilities Act. Passengers unable to utilize the fixed route or standard vehicles may be referred for door to door complimentary paratransit services.
